Explanation: Pair production refers to the creation of an elementary particle and it's anti-particle (say, an electron and a positron) from an energetic photon (or another neutral boson). This particle anti-particle pair can later recombine, yielding another photon of the same energy. This process is allowed assuming that the photon has an energy equal to or greater than the rest mass energies of the particle anti-particle pair. The figures drawn in the comic are called Feynman diagrams and were introduced by Richard Feynman as an easy way to visualize processes such as this. This comic shows the idea of Pair Production in an understandable, and funny, way.
